Seafood season is back everyone!

And what better way to celebrate than by going to Red Lobster for as of this Summer and Fall Season, they are offering an amazing deal called the $20 Ultimate Endless Shrimp Meal.

For only $20, you can enjoy an endless amount of shrimp in a variety of different flavors.

I mean heck, with a price point like that in this economy, you simply can’t pass it up!

And here at Food Sensei, we are all about our seafood, so we want to know exactly just how good this $20 Ultimate Endless Shrimp deal from Red Lobster actually is. And if it’s actually worth your time and money?

So if you’re like us and are curious about this amazing deal, stay tuned as we will go in depths on just how the experience was and also how the flavors of the shrimp tastes.

Heading To Red Lobster

We came to our nearby Red Lobster at around 5:00 pm and expected there to be quite a few people as well since this deal sounds too amazing to pass up.

However, to our surprise there was literally nobody and no cars in the parking lot.

In fact, there was only 1 car parked at the entire complex of Red Lobster, so we were left wondering, if they were even open. But once we walked up to the door and opened it, we were greeted by the nicest lady ever who asked us how many will be dining and if we had any seating preferences.

We opted for the window seat as we wanted the sunlight as well as seeing the outside views around us.

She gave us our menu’s and then said our server will be right with us.

Red Lobster $20 Ultimate Endless Shrimp Menu

Now in our hands, we were looking through the menu for a few minutes and immediately spotted the new $20 Ultimate Endless Shrimp deal that Red Lobster was going to have. And beneath it, it has all the amazing flavors listed that you can try.

Here is the list of flavors incase you were curious:

  • Tequila Lime Shrimp
  • Crispy Dragon Shrimp
  • Walt’s Favorite Shrimp
  • Shrimp Linguini Alfredo
  • Garlic Shrimp Scampi
  • Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp
  • Garlic Grilled Shrimp Skewer
  • Popcorn Shrimp

Seeing this many options, we were definitely excited.

Time To Order The Food

After a few minutes, our server came and she asked us what we would like to eat and drink.

For starters, you know we all had to get the $20 Ultimate Endless Shrimp, after all, that is the only reason why we are here at Red Lobster.

She then told us that by getting the Endless Shrimp deal, it comes with one side as well.

So looking through the sides, we all got some different things to try, but me being me, I got the loaded baked potato.

And as for the shrimp deal, we were told that for the first order, we can order 3 different flavors of shrimp. Then each order after that we can only order two flavors at a time. Which was fine as I know that’s how they get people to not eat as much.

So starting off, I ordered the Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, and a Grilled Shrimp Skewer.

I also got a Coke Zero incase you were wondering as well.

And once she had our tables entire orders, she went to go place it and now the waiting begins.

Food Has Come, It’s Time To Eat

Surprisingly, the wait was actually not that long.

In fact, it only took about 10 minutes before our shrimps started to arrive.

And once they were sat on our table, it was time to feast!

Immediately you could smell a delicious scent of so many different flavors and aromas floating through the air. And each of us got a huge platter with 3 plates on it with each plate being a different flavor shrimp.

Red Lobster Grilled Shrimp Skewer

I started off with the Grilled Shrimp Skewers.

There was like 5 pieces of shrimp on my skewer which seemed quite generous as I was thinking they were only going to give like 2 or 3 pieces. Not to mention, the shrimp was also a decent size, not too big, not too small. It had grilled marks all over and looked delicious.

I took one bite and was blown away.

The shrimp even though it’s frozen shrimp, had great flavor and great texture. It was bouncy and firm, and had a lot of moisture in it even while being grilled. Plus, I was able to get a nice smokey yet grilled sensation from the shrimp which was great.

Honestly, we’re starting off strong as so far the experience was really good.

The Grilled Shrimp Skewers also came with some rice which I didn’t really care for. It was okay, but lacked any type of flavor. I know it was only there to keep us full faster.

Red Lobster Shrimp Linguini Alfredo

Moving on to the next shrimp, I tried the Shrimp Linguini Alfredo.

And this one was really delicious.

Noodles were cooked well with a bit of a al dente type of flair, while the sauce was thick and creamy and coated everything nicely. The shrimp itself also tasted good as the alfredo sauce gave it a creamy feel that was somewhat salty in a good way while not taking away any of the shrimps flavor. It complimented each other really nicely.

Red Lobster Garlic Shrimp Scampi

Then I tried the Garlic Shrimp Scampi, and this by far was my favorite. The shrimp itself had a delicious garlicy flavor that was a bit pungent with a nice kick. And the aroma from the garlic made it heavenly to eat. I will say it did feel very buttery, but that only added to the flavor. My only complaint for this item was that I wish they put a bit less butter on the shrimp as the entire dish was covered in butter. Other than that, it was the best so far.

Time To Wait For Next Course

After devouring all 3 flavors of the shrimp, it was time to order our next 2 flavors.

However, we noticed that our server didn’t really come by all that much once we got our first orders of shrimp. In fact, we had to wait 15 minutes after finishing the entire 3 flavors on our first course before she came back and asked us for what we wanted.

And this was where I knew something was up.

So the game Red Lobster is playing is the waiting game.

They give us 3 flavors of shrimp to try, with some of the flavors having loads of carbs in it which will obviously fill us up faster, and also get us tired from eating faster as well.

But the addition of the added wait time is where things get interesting, as anyone probably knows that the more time you have to wait after you finish eating a certain amount, the more full you’ll start to feel.

And I think this is what Red Lobster is trying to bank on us being full faster.

Seeing the price of $20 for an Endless Shrimp sounds too good to be true, but even though it is true, they do have tricks up their sleeves to make you eat not as much and get you out the door faster.

Either way, this didn’t deter us, as we were determined to try every flavor on the menu.

So being as how the second round we were only able to order two flavors, I ordered the Crispy Dragon Shrimp and also the Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp.

With the orders sent off, it was time to wait again.

Second Round Of Endless Shrimp Starts Now

After waiting another 10 or so minutes, our orders came.

And just like before, the shrimp flavors came in a nice plate and also came in a generous amount as well.

Red Lobster Crispy Dragon Shrimp

Starting with the Crispy Dragon Shrimp, I believe this was one of their new flavors they introduced recently. It was basically a fried piece of shrimp that was coated in some thick orange sauce.

I took a bite out of it and was like “Wow, this is really tasty”.

The Crispy Dragon Shrimp had a good crispy exterior while the batter wasn’t too thick. The inside of the shrimp was cooked well being bouncy and firm and super juicy. But the highlight was definitely the sauce. I don’t know what type of sauce it is, but it has a nice savory yet sweet feel that was somewhat spicy.

Nothing too overpowering, but the light spice from the chili sauce definitely gave it a lot of flavor that I loved.

This was probably the second best shrimp flavor I had so far.

Red Lobster Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp

After that, I tried the Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp.

This was basically a fried shrimp that was butterflied open, and it came with some type of coconut sauce.

I dipped the shrimp in the sauce and took a bite, and was immediately thrown aback. The flavor was not my favorite, in fact this was probably my least favorite flavor of them all.

The shrimp itself was fine, it was fried nicely with a crispy exterior and soft and tender interior, but the coconut sauce was just awful. It had a strong coconut flavor but also something that made it feel very chemically. It was a bit sour in my opinion which was very weird as I didn’t expect that flavor at all.

I ended up just eating the fried shrimp and left the sauce on the side cause that sauce was horrible.

Round 3 Of More Endless Shrimp

For round 3, I ordered the Walt’s Favorite Shrimp and also the Tequila Lime Shrimp, which is also one of the new additions to the Ultimate Endless Shrimp Menu at Red Lobster.

Red Lobster Walts Favorite Shrimp

Starting with the Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, it was basically similar to that of the Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp except the sauce was different, some type of red sauce.

I grabbed the shrimp and dipped it in the red sauce and was surprised.

Walt’s Favorite Shrimp is basically just a fried shrimp with cocktail sauce. Nothing really special about it. I thought the red sauce was going to be something incredible or special, but it’s just ordinary cocktail sauce. The fried shrimp was also the same as before so nothing really special there.

It ended up just being okay for me, as I’m not too much of a fan of plain fried shrimp and cocktail sauce.

Red Lobster Tequila Lime Shrimp

I then tried the Tequila Lime Shrimp which was their newest addition to the menu.

The shrimp itself was basically a grilled shrimp that was on a skewer, but it also came with a Tequila Lime sauce.

I dipped the shrimp into the sauce and took a bite.

This was definitely interesting as the sauce itself was very tangy, a bit citrusy, and also savory too. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it also wasn’t my favorite. I would have preferred if you could actually taste more of the Tequila, but honestly there wasn’t any of that flavor in here.

Ranking The Flavors Of Endless Shrimp

So far we tried 7 of the flavors they have at Red Lobster for their $20 Ultimate Endless Shrimp deal.

Now they have a total of 8 flavors, but the last one is just popcorn shrimp and honestly, I’m not coming to Red Lobster to eat Popcorn Shrimp. It’s just a smaller version of the fried shrimp we had earlier, and I’m pretty sure I’ll know what it tastes like.

So with that being said, here’s my ranking of the flavors of Endless Shrimp at Red Lobster from Best to Worst.

  1. Garlic Shrimp Scampi
  2. Crispy Dragon Shrimp
  3. Shrimp Linguini Alfredo
  4. Tequila Lime Shrimp
  5. Grilled Shrimp Skewer
  6. Walt’s Favorite Shrimp
  7. Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp
  8. Popcorn Shrimp

My favorite by far was definitely the Garlic Shrimp Scampi as that was just divine. It had that great flavor of the garlic taste and also the shrimp was cooked beautifully.

My least favorite was obviously the Popcorn Shrimp and also the Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp as that Coconut Shrimp was just bad. I don’t know if it’s just my location or if they made it wrong or something, but that flavor was definitely a no.

Red Lobster Ultimate Endless Shrimp Worth It?

At the end of the day, the $20 Ultimate Endless Shrimp deal from Red Lobster is absolutely worth every penny.

Especially in this economy where a meal at McDonalds can easily cost over $14 or $15 dollars, spending just a few dollars more to get an all you can eat shrimp meal with a side is a no brainer.

Now I know they do try a bunch of tricks on you to try to get you to become fuller faster and wanting you to eat less to earn money. But honestly speaking, even then it’s still a good deal.

As long as you have the patience to wait awhile and a big enough room in your belly for food, then I think spending the $20 on this Ultimate Endless Shrimp deal is worth it every single way.

Now this promotion is only a limited time event, and once its over, you’ll have to wait till next year to try it.

But if you get the chance to, I definitely recommend it!

Update: As of this time of writing, Red Lobster has increased the price for this promotion to $25 Dollars.

It is now called the Red Lobster $25 Ultimate Endless Shrimp Deal,
