Taco Bell Chicken Enchilada Burrito

Taco Bell has a Chicken Enchilada Burrito?

Now that sounds really interesting!

After all, it is two items that I really love combined together.

You got a Chicken Enchilada and also a Burrito? What could go wrong?

This is one item I am very excited to try and I really hope Taco Bell executes it well as if this is good, then I might be coming back for it time and time again.

So with that being said, lets go get the food~

Buying The Food

Now buying the Chicken Enchilada Burrito is a really easy thing to do.

I drove my car to Taco Bell and saw that the Drive-Thru line was super long and I didn’t want to wait in that long line, so I parked in the parking lot and just walked inside to order.

To my surprise, they didn’t even have any signs showing off that the new Chicken Enchilada Burrito was available.

I was confused at first, as I thought I came on the wrong day.

So I asked and sure enough, they did have the item, but they just didn’t have time to put up the signs. This was understandable.

Either way, I placed my order and the price for the Chicken Enchilada Burrito came to around $2.59 before tax which was super cheap for a Taco Bell Burrito.

It kind of made me wonder how big the whole thing was going to be.

Anyways, after waiting for 10 minutes around so, I got my item and went back to my car.

It felt quite heavy holding it which was a good thing to me, so hopefully it tastes good.

Lets get on with the review~

What Does It Look Like

Taco Bell Chicken Enchilada Burrito Wrapped

Taking it out the Taco Bell Bag, I noticed the burrito itself was wrapped in the usual Taco Bell paper wrap which was pretty normal.

But I had to say, for around $2.59, the burrito looked really big.

After unwrapping the paper, I was indeed left with a smile on my face as that burrito was heavy and big. It looked like the Taco Bell employee who made this put a bunch of filling inside this monster.

Now I don’t know if this is how it was suppose to be made, but either way I am happy.

I unwrapped the burrito itself to take a look on the inside.

And I have to say, there was a good amount of ingredients inside.

You could see a good amount of chicken, rice, sour cream, and cheese. However one thing you couldn’t really see was the Red Sauce.

So I’m not sure how much Red Sauce they put in here, but hopefully the burrito in general tasted good.

I wrapped the burrito back up, and now its time to taste~

What Did It Taste Like

Taco Bell Chicken Enchilada Burrito

I took a huge bite out of the burrito, and my first thought was…”This is it?”.

I was completely let down.

When I heard Taco Bell was making a Chicken Enchilada Burrito, I was expecting a strong enchilada flavor, however this burrito didn’t have that.

And honestly, I think it’s because they didn’t put enough Red Sauce in my burrito.

After all, when we took a look inside, there was barely any Red Sauce.

Taco Bell Chicken Enchilada Burrito Bite

Like the burrito in general was fine, the ingredients tasted decent.

The Tortilla it self was soft and warm, Chicken was seasoned right and it was tender and juicy, Seasoned Rice was fluffy and you could taste the spices used inside.

The Three-Cheese blend gave it a nice cheesy feel that was somewhat melted somewhat not, but it was still good.

And you also had the Reduced-Fat Sour Cream, which gave a nice cooling sensation that was creamy.

It was a good burrito, but Enchilada it was not.

Now if they put more of that Red Sauce, I’m sure the burrito would have tasted leaps and bounds better, but as it is right now, it just wasn’t it.

I had the Red Sauce before with other items like their Dipping Birria, and it was delicious. Had a smoky feel with a bit of a kick and nice flavors throughout.

It was good.

But this burrito, I don’t know if they just didn’t put enough or if that’s how they were suppose to make it, but you could not taste that Red Sauce at all.

Not a great look, and one that kind of ruined the experience of a Chicken Enchilada Burrito.

How Can It Be Improved

Honestly, being called a Chicken Enchilada Burrito from Taco Bell, I was expecting a good strong Enchilada flavor.

But this did not have that.

And It’s mostly because they didn’t put enough Red Sauce in it.

When you’re eating an Enchilada, you know that sauce is one of the most important things to the food which helps give it that flavor.

Which is why, I hope Taco Bell puts a lot more of the Red Sauce into the burrito next time.

I want to feel that delicious sauce flowing in each bite, I want the burrito itself to be smothered in that Red Sauce.

Other than that, it’s a decent burrito and for around $2.59, you can’t really ask for much.

If they get the Red Sauce right, I’m sure it’ll taste great.

Overall Thoughts

With that being said, as it is right now, it’s just an okay burrito.

Nothing too special and probably not anything that would make me drive back here to get it again.

But if you’re looking for a good cheap burrito to eat, this might not be a bad option. However, don’t expect a strong Enchilada flavor from it.

Just treat it like a normal burrito from Taco Bell.

Overall Rating: 6.5

Taco Bell, Please give me more of that Red Sauce~
