Taco Bell is bringing back their Rolled Chicken Tacos, and I am excited!
The Rolled Chicken Tacos were originally released many years ago and it was one of the most popular items ever.
And for good reason too, they were cheap and affordable and had great flavor and taste.
So hearing them bring such an iconic item back truly makes me happy.
Now I’m sure many of you have already tried this item before, but if not then you’re in for a treat!
Let’s go buy the Rolled Chicken Taco and see how it tastes!
Buying The Food
Upon hearing the news of Taco Bell bringing back the Rolled Chicken Tacos, I was excited!
So I got in my car and immediately drove to the nearest Taco Bell around here and went into the Drive-Thu line.
When I got there, there was no cars in line yet so I figured I was super early for this new announcement, which was also good for me as I didn’t have to wait long.
I saw on the menu that they offered the Rolled Chicken Tacos in either the 2 pack or the 4 pack. They also have a Rolled Chicken Tacos Deluxe Box and Party Pack, which honestly was a bit much for me.
So I placed the order for a Rolled Chicken Taco 2 Pack and was on my way to the window to pay.
The price came out to around $3.49 before tax which was pretty decent considering you got 2 Pieces of Rolled Chicken Tacos and a dipping sauce.
After paying for my food, it took about 1 minute for them to get my item to me.
And with the item on my lap, I am ready to dig in!
Lets head on into the review!
What Does It Look Like
Looking at the package, the Rolled Chicken Tacos came in this paper bag that held them completely inside.
There was also a sauce that came with it, and you actually had 3 different choices of sauce. You could choose between Nacho Cheese, Spicy Ranch Sauce, or Guacamole.
I chose the Spicy Ranch Sauce, and it was placed in a small sauce container nicely next to the Rolled Chicken Tacos.
After taking out one of the Rolled Chicken Tacos out of the bag, I noticed it looked basically like a Taquito.
It was long, had a crispy exterior and smelled delightful.
You couldn’t really see the inside of the Rolled Chicken Taco all that well, but knowing it had some good filling on the inside, I was ready.
Either way, it looked good!
So let’s give it a try.
What Did It Taste Like
First thing I did was to take a bit out of the Rolled Chicken Taco without dipping it in the sauce.
I wanted to see if it had that same great taste as it did many years ago.
And to my surprise, it was just as majestic.
It feels and tastes literally like a Taquito.
It had a nice crispy exterior that broke apart easily with every bite. Plus, being made out of a corn tortilla, it had a subtle corn flavor that wasn’t overpowering but worked really well with each bite.
And once you get the middle of the rolled taco, you could taste the incredible flavor of the shredded all-white meat chicken that was inside.
The chicken itself was tender and soft and was seasoned quite well.
It had a bit of a smoky type of feel and you can feel the spices used with it too.
It was delicious.
But now lets try it with the dipping sauce!
So I grabbed my Spicy Ranch dipping cup and dipped the Rolled Chicken Tacos into it and got a good heaping amount of sauce.
I took a bite, and was quite pleased with the result.
The Rolled Chicken Tacos were already pretty delicious, but once you paired it with the sauce (and I got the Spicy Ranch Sauce), it gave it way more flavor and depths.
The sauce itself had a nice creamy feel that was slighly milky with a good ranch flavor that was quite prominent. As for the spice, it wasn’t really that spicy but it did have a nice kick that kind of buzzed your tongue.
It was a great combination, and one that I think many people will love.
The only thing here is that, I was sad after eating this because now I wanted more and more.
How Can It Be Improved
The Rolled Chicken Tacos from Taco Bell were actually really good items that everyone loves.
It had high praises many years ago, and now after bringing it back, I’m sure it’ll get more high praises too.
Now if anything could be changed, maybe I would like to suggest having different fillings in the rolled tacos.
After all, the chicken in the Rolled Chicken Tacos were good, but I want to see some ground beef, maybe some chopped steak, or anything else they might have.
I think those would make it really nice.
And maybe offer a spicy version too which I think many people will like as well.
Other than that, the Rolled Chicken Tacos are a great item to have.
Overall Thoughts
With that being said, Taco Bells Rolled Chicken Tacos are a simple item in general.
Being just a crispy corn tortilla wrapped around some shredded chicken and some sauce, it’s a no brainer. Plus, it’s really cheap and affordable and quite tasty.
If I had to give an advice, I would probably say get the 4 pack, as the 2 pack is a bit little and will leave you hungry after eating them.
But either way, I just love how they remind you of delicious taquitos.
So if you love Taquitos or if you just want to try Taco Bells Rolled Chicken Tacos, then I think you’ll be quite pleased with this item.
