Jollibee which serves up some of the best Fast Food Fried Chicken has just teamed up with KATSEYE. This special collaboration seems them create a brand new flavor being the Korean BBQ Chicken Flavor.
Seeing as how this is, you know we here at Food Senpai definitely has to try.
After all, we are huge fans of both Jollibee and KATSEYE, so seeing this definitely got us excited.
What’s The Item?
This collaboration sees Jollibee x KATSEYE unveiling two new items for people to try.
They include the KBBQ Chicken Sandwich and also the KBBQ Fried Chicken:
- KATSEYE Special Korean BBQ Chicken Sandwich: Features a toasted brioche bun and topped with fresh cucumber slices, thinly sliced red onion and cilantro, and has the brands signature chicken covered in a soy glaze and gochujang sauce.
- Korean BBQ Chicken: For those wanting the bone-in versions, the KATSEYE Special Korean BBQ Fried Chicken also offers the same signature crispy and juicy fried chicken that the brand is known for covered in the delicious Korean BBQ Sauce.
Seeing the description for both of these items, they definitely sound delicious to try.
How Much Did The KATSEYE KBBQ Chicken Cost?
Now I will be the first to say that this meal is definitely not cheap.
In fact, Jollibee itself is already considered pretty expensive especially here in the states. But this collaboration definitely takes it up a notch.

As you can see, the prices of these are really expensive.
Whether it’s not it’s worth it, we shall see.
But for this review, we are only going to be buying a 6pc KBBQ Fried Chicken Bucket and also a KBBQ Chicken Sandwich.
What The KATSEYE Special Looks Like
Now as we know, we eat with our eyes first.
So obviously we had to see if the food looks as good as it does in the pictures right? And at first glance, it sure lives up to the hype.
Both the foods looks absolutely amazing.
The 6pc KBBQ Fried Chicken Bucket was filled with 6 enormous pieces of fried chicken. Each one of them being covered in a bunch of sauce. So it looks like you’ll definitely get the new flavor with each and every bite.
Although I will say, I think they shrunk the box a little. Although I can’t be certain as I haven’t gone to Jollibee in awhile.
But I was pleasantly surprised that even the box looked pretty neat especially with the sauces all around.
The KBBQ Chicken Sandwich also looked really good as well.
I mean, just look at that piece of chicken inside of that sandwich! That thing was enormous, it makes their bread look like a toddlers food item.
It was nicely packaged and made in a really nice way.
I would say A+ for the appeareance.
How Did The KATSEYE x Jollibee KBBQ Taste?
This is probably the most important section that all of you have been waiting for.
After all, this whole collab was based on a new flavor so let’s see if it lives up to the hype.
KATSEYE Special KBBQ Fried Chicken
First thing that came to my mind was just how flavorful the chicken was. I tried the KBBQ Fried Chicken first, and wow did it blow my mind. It’s the same chicken that you know and love but with a stronger more flavorful feel.
The chicken wasn’t crisp because of the sauce, but it was tender and juicy.
But the star of the show was the new Spicy Korean BBQ Sauce.
It was a good amount of saltiness mixed with a smokey feel. It also has a hint of sweetness to it which was nice. But best part about it was that it had a nice heat to it. The heat wasn’t overpowering or anything but felt just right where it tickled your tongue.
KATSEYE Special KBBQ Chicken Sandwich
As for the KBBQ Chicken Sandwich from the KATSEYE Special, this one was just as good if not better.
The sandwich itself was made beautifully with each piece complementing it completely.
The bun was soft and soaked in all the sauces so nothing was dripping off. The chicken was nicely made where it was so juicy and moist. Incredibly tender and also had the beautiful flavors of the KBBQ sauce.
But what made it even better was that the cucumbers gave off a nice refreshing feel. It made it so that it didn’t feel oily whatsoever. The red onions gave it an extra bit of sweetness and the cilantro gave it a subtle herbaceous feel.
Both of these items were delicious.
Thoughts On KATSEYE x Jollibee KBBQ Collab
With that being said, I was thoroughly impressed by the KATSEYE x Jollibee collaboration. Just like the KATSEYE Group, this new KBBQ Flavor definitely made an impact in taste and flavor.
Both items are really good, but I would say the KBBQ Chicken Sandwich was definitely the star here. That thing just stood out in every aspect and tasted so good. The Fried Chicken was good but honestly the additions of the cucumber, onion and cilantro from the sandwich made it stand out.
I do wish they made the new items a bit cheaper since it is pretty expensive. I mean, you’re paying $18.99 for a 6 piece bucket? That’s over 3 dollars a piece!
Now I do get why its so expensive, because this is a really tough collab to get and people will definitely buy it. But man do I wish it was cheaper.
Overall Verdict On KATSEYE x Jollibee
It’s still a great collab to see and one I know will drive insane sales for.

Either way, if you’re a fan of K-Pop or Jollibee, than this is something you should definitely try. It’s a bit different but one that hits in all fields.
